Vijay Deverakonda is seen as frank and forthright. His critics, on the other hand, interpret his honesty and frankness as arrogance. As per Ram Gopal Varma, the latter has happened with respect to the Bollywood audience.

During the promotions of 'Liger', the 'Arjun Reddy' actor would often use the phrase 'Waat Laga Dengey' as a symbol of his confidence that the Puri Jagannadh directorial will be making history. RGV, in his latest interview, hinted that this attitude didn't go down well with the Hindi audience, who prefer the humbleness exuded by Tarak and Ram Charan while promoting 'Roudram Ranam Rudhiram'.

RGV's assessment could be off the mark. The audience purely judge a film by its content. They didn't like 'Liger' and rejected it after the first weekend in Hindi. Not many audiences keenly observe what an actor does off-screen and make their movie-going choices. They have a general impression about every actor, but it doesn't mean their choices are solely and invariably determined by it.

Did Vijay's confidence come across as over-confidence and arrogance? Some sections of the audience might have misinterpreted it that way. But RGV is stretching the argument too far!
