Ram Gopal Varma has long become a shadow of himself. Of late, he has become a parody of the shadow. The 'Caste Feeling' song from 'Kamma Rajyamlo Kadapa Reddlu', released earlier today, comes up with irrational arguments in favour of casteism and caste consciousness.
"My 'CASTE FEELING' song is trending on YouTube along with my Raju caste Prabhas's #Saaho song. Feeling proud to celebrate my caste feeling on this occasion. Jai Rajus, Jai Prabhas, Jai Saaho," RGV tweeted out.
Without a doubt, RGV is promoting pro-caste bigotry. "When it's not wrong to be proud of my country, my religion, my children and my family, how do I become a donkey if I say that I am proud of my caste?" asks RGV in the song. Firstly, country is an essential identity to survive in the modern world. When there is no country, there would be no safety as such, as a predatory country will invade you the next day. Family is a unit of life. Even animals have them and all tribes since time immemorial have had a family. Take out family, no society will survive. Religion has to do with a set of beliefs, which help us make sense of the mysterious. What is caste? Just an artificial identity which can be created or energized by any damn tribal leader, politician, or law. And you want to promote that?
