"Even ordinary people become extraordinary individuals in extraordinary circumstances," says Ram Gopal Varma, the writer-director of 'Konda', the biopic of Konda Murali and Konda Surekha, former rebel leaders from Telangana's Warangal. The trailer for the movie will be out on January 26 at 10:25 am.
In a 3-minute-long monologue, RGV has described Surekha as an Adhi Para Shakti. He spoke of "beastly humans launching a Kurukshetra against the Konda couple because of jealousy." We are also introduced to a real-life character named Nalla Sudhakar.
RGV mentions a Telangana proverb to drive home the battle for domination. "Pottodni podugodu kodithe, podugodini Pochamma kottindanta," RGV says, adding that Konda Murali's revolt came out from an anguished heart.
"I believe a lot of what the Puranas say. Hear me out. Hegemons were fough by the Konda couple. They are more powerful than gods. 'Konda' is going to show you their saga as it is," RGV adds.
Many years ago, on Republic Day, at 10:25 am, a brutal assassination attempt was made on Konda Murali's life. "Thanks to Maisamma, Murali came out unscathed. But the bullets from that attempt are still in his body. That's why I am releasing the trailer for 'Konda' at the exact time," RGV says.
The release date of the movie, starring Adith Arun and Irra Mor, is yet to be announced.
