RGV Ki Aag

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Hindi Comments

Evil comes in many shapes and sizes.
Evil could be within or outside you. Evil could be mortal or immortal. Evil could be a human being or an external force.
Evil could be BABBAN!

Because Babban [Amitabh Bachchan] was someone who was far more than just an average human being. He was psychotic, he was ruthless and as he believed, he was immortal. He was also someone for whom no other human being was worthy enough to stand in front of him, look into his eye and build a conversation.

With an unmatched animal instinct, he was a force which could well be undefeated. But Inspector Narsimha [Mohanlal] though otherwise. For him, Babban was just another criminal. A criminal who was mad for sure but not invincible.

An encounter specialist, he had once arrested Babban. And now he wanted him dead. Dead, because Babban was out of jail and given him scars which could only be washed away with Babban's blood.

To aid him in his revenge, Narsimha roped in two small time crooks Heero [Ajay Devgan] and Raj [Prashant Raj]. The two being childhood buddies, they were inseparable and now aimed at making it big in the city of Mumbai. Little were they aware that they would soon be getting into a game which would make them juggle between life and death.

In this tough journey of their, they found the love of their life though. While Heero found Ghunghroo [Nisha Kothari], an unspoken bond developed between Raj and Durga [Sushmita Sen]. Ghughroo was everything that a man may 'not' want! Almost tom boyish in her persona, she was a huge Rajnikanth fan and an auto driver to boast. Loud mouth, over confident and coming with an 'I-Care-A-Damn' attitude, she was soon won over by Heero.

On the other hand Durga Devi was what one considers as an epitome of womanhood. With a massive tragedy behind her, she could have been one broken soul. But it had only made her stronger. Stronger enough to make sure that the person who did this to her and her family was not spared.

Battlelines were drawn. At one end there was Narsimha along with Heero and Raj while on the other there was Babban with his equally evil aide Tambhe [Sushant Singh].

A fierce battle was about to begin. A battle which would have no rules, no timelines and no conclusion except death. A battle which would involve fear, blood and 'aag'!

Releasing all over on 31st August all over, RAM GOPAL VARMA KI AAG also stars Urmila Matondkar in a special appearance as 'Mehbooba'.
