Bollywood actor Aamir Khan too joined the bandwagon protesting over rising intolerance in India. Speaking to the media, the actor stated that he was alarmed by a series of incidents and his wife Kiran Rao suggested that they should move out of the country. As and soon Aamir's remarks were out, the actor and his filmmaker wife faced staunch criticism and backlash from all quarters. The virtual world have asked Aamir to have a reality check before talking about such sensitive issues and went onto say that Aamir disgraced the nation with his comments.

Maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma too echoed similar views and expressed his discontent over the actor's remarks. In his micro-blogging page, RGV writes,"If Aamir,Sharuk and Salman the three biggest stars of the Hindu country "India" are Muslims, I don't understand where intolerance is ? In a predominantly Hindu country,if 3 Muslims can become the biggest iconic super stars that itself proves the majority aren't intolerant. Some celebs complaining about Intolerance should be the last ones to complain becos they became celebs in a so called intolerant country. Isolated incidents cant be taken as sign of intolerance and the super stardom of 3 Muslims is proof enough of the vast majority's tolerance."
