Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, in a recent press interaction in Dubai, dismissed the Me Too movement as a fad. To quote him, here is what the 'Janatha Garage' actor said: "There is no big problem in the Malayalam industry. You shouldn’t think of the MeToo as a movement actually. It is a fad and it is turning into something of a fashion. Anything like that will have a lifespan for a bit".
Reacting to the insensitive comments, veteran actress Revathy has slammed him on social media without mentioning Mohanlal's name. Her statement reads "MeToo movement a 'FAD', says a Renowned ACTOR. How do we bring some degree of sensitivity in such people? As someone said, people who have just arrived from Mars have no clue what it means to get abused, what it takes to call out and how this can bring about change!!! (sic)".
Mohanlal is at loggerheads with the heroines of Malayalam cinema for reinstating Dileep in AMMA after he was ousted for his alleged involvement in the abduction and sexual abuse of a young actress a few months back.
