Actress Revathi ruled the roost in South Indian cinema in the 80s and 90s and especially in Tamil starring opposite all the legendary stars including Sivaji Ganesan, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Vijayakanth, Sathyaraj, Prabhu and Karthik.  She married cinematrographer turned director Suresh Menon in 1996 but seperated from him in 2002 and got a divorce in 2013.

Revathi has revealed that after her divorce she wanted to have a child and with the concurrence and help of her parents she gave birth to a girl child by the IVF (test tube) method.  The little girl is named Mahi and Revathi has stated in an interview that the five year old is like any other child and doing very well.  She has now opened up about this because rumours started spreading that she had adopted her and did not want it to affect her in the future.
