Rama Gopalan, convener of Hindu Munnani, has asserted that retrieving Hindu temples and lands belonging to Hindus had been his long-term objective.
The veteran Hindu Munnani leader was taking part at a seminar convened by the Munnani at Madathukulam in Tirupur District on the topic "Saffronizing Tamil Nadu". He insisted on proper use of social networking sites in the present day scenario when even a child has started using mobile phones. "We should behave as responsible citizens for our sake as well as for others' sake," he asserted.
Taking on lyricist Vairamuthu's take on 'Andal', Gopalan said Vairamuthu should feel ashamed for having made such derogatory remarks."It is not for the first time that persons like Vairamuthu had insulted Hindu Gods and Goddesses. Had we opposed them the first time itself, they would have learnt to keep themselves shut; we didn't do so but won't allow it in future," he said.
"Thanks to years of work by the Munnani, criticism emanates the moment Hindu Gods or culture are criticized by others,"he said. Taking on DMK's working president Stalin for stating that he won't allow the BJP to take roots in the State, he said that it was indeed surprising that some people talk as if they had taken the State 'on lease'".
"My lifetime objective is to retrieve Hindu temples and Hindus' lands and I'm hopeful of achieving it,"he concluded.
