The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League will enter the playoffs today. We might witness maiden champions this season as 3 out of the 4 teams qualified for the playoffs have never won any IPL titles yet. It is to be noted that two debut teams have qualified for the playoff this time, but the dominants CSK and MI haven't made the cut.
To add more spice to the tournament, we have exciting news for you. The IPL superstar, who announced retirement from the cash-rich tournament in November last year, has confirmed his return ahead of the 2023 season. South African explosive batter AB de Villiers, the pride of the RCB franchise, will be returning to the renowned T20 league.
Earlier this month, Virat Kohli in an interview hinted at the comeback of AB de Villiers to Royal Challengers Bangalore. Now, ABD himself has confirmed in a recent interaction that he is looking forward to reuniting with the Bangalore-based team. RCB inducted de Villiers and West Indies legend Chris Gayle into their Hall of Fame during this season.
AB de Villiers stated, "I am glad to hear Virat confirmed it. To be honest, we haven’t decided on anything yet. I will definitely be around IPL next year. I am not sure in what capacity but I am missing getting back there. I have heard a little bird tweeting, saying that there might be some games in Bangalore. So, I would love to return to my second hometown (Bangalore) and watch the full capacity stadium there at the Chinnaswamy again. I would love to return, I am looking forward to it."
