In yet another strike which is proof of India’s supreme military capability, five dedicated commandoes of the Indian Army crossed the Line of Control (LOC) with Pakistan, entered Pak-Occupied Kashmir (POK) and killed 3 Pakistani soldiers.
The strike, which was carried out late on Monday night (25th December) in the Rukh-Chakri sub-sector bordering the LOC in Rawalakote locality, was in retaliation to the unprovoked firing of Pakistani Rangders late last week resulting in killing of three Indian soldiers including a Major. Soon after the attack, India termed it as a ‘cowardly’ act and vowed to retaliate at a time when things suited its operation.
Pakistan’s misadventure in Keri sector of Rajouri District dented the already tense relationship between the two Asian neighbours. Defence Ministry sources say that India’s strikes were necessitated after some ‘suspicious activity’ was found and reported at Pakistani posts along LOC opposite Poonch. 4-5 Indian commandoes forayed into POK to destroy a few Pakistani posts and smoke was seen bellowing out.
Pakistan’s ISI confirmed the killing of three of its soldiers. Yet another Pakistani sniper was killed at Nowshera sector in Rajouri District while he was spotted in time and fired at by Indian soldiers even as he was taking a position to fire at Indians.
