Resul Pookutty, the Oscar and BAFTA-winning Sound Mixer, worked on 'Pushpa: The Rise' last year. The news is that he has received an award in the Best Best Sound Effects category from Power Brands. Sharing the news on Twitter, the acclaimed technician wrote, "It was a night of celebrations."
The forest fight in the Allu Arjun-starrer's second half has come in for critical and expert acclaim. Even the lay audience have praised the sound effect as something extraordinary.
Resul, who has collaborated with the likes of AR Rahman in the past, is widely respected in the film industry for pioneering technological advances in the field of sound design in mainstream cinema.
The technician hogged headlines when he won the Academy Award for Best Sound Mixing for 'Slumdog Millionaire', the 2008 film.
As for 'Pushpa', the film is directed by Sukumar. Resul is also known for 'Radhe Shyam' and he worked on both films simultaneously.
