"Collector is the supreme authority of the district. And I am that supreme authority," says Sai Dharam Tej's character in the trailer for 'Republic', which is all set to hit the screens on October 1. Unveiling the trailer, Megastar Chiranjeevi informed that Sai Tej is recovering fast and that the movie would be hitting the screens on the said date as per his wishes.

As the trailer progresses, we find that Ramya Krishna's Visakha Vani plays an arrogant and compromised politician who is at loggerheads with the civil servant protagonist. There is talk of genocide, there is also a reference to Hitler.
Fear, ignorance, innocence and loyalty, thunders Sai Tej's character, are the pillars on which the throne of the power is placed. As it is, the element of the IAS officer mobilizing people's support against a project seems to be the crux of the story.
In the tussle between the executive and the legislature, Jagapathi Babu's character is caught. Srikanth Iyengar and Jayaprakash have roles, while Aishwarya Rajesh is the heroine.
With music and cinematography by Mani Sharma and Sukumar M, respectively, the film is edited by KL Praveen.
