Renu Desai, who plays the pivotal role of Social Reformist Hemalatha Lavanam in Ravi Teja's highly-anticipated film, 'Tiger Nageswara Rao,' shared her thoughts during the pre-release event.

Regarding role in 'Tiger Nageswara Rao':

'I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to director Vamsee and Abhishek Agarwal for entrusting me with this character. I extend my thanks to Ravi Teja for this role. My association with this project dates back to 2019, and I must admit that when I realized Ravi Teja was part of it, I was pleasantly surprised. I wanted to take this moment to publicly thank him, as he might not be aware of how crucial his decision was for me.'

Reflecting on sharing the screen with Ravi Teja:

'It's truly an honor to have the opportunity to share the screen with Ravi Teja. My character, the storyline, and the director have all come together wonderfully to create a unique cinematic experience.'

Discussing the portrayal of Hemalatha Lavanam:

'I feel incredibly fortunate to have portrayed such an extraordinary woman on screen. She serves as an inspiration to today's youth. Her courage and determination were unparalleled. I, like many, was not very familiar with her until I became a part of 'Tiger Nageswara Rao.' She was a brave individual who ventured into the Chambal region and Bundelkhand to reform social rebels. Concepts like feminism may be relatively new to us, but not to her. She was a happily married woman who chose to wear the attire traditionally meant for widows as part of her mission. She fought for the rights of Joginis, among other important causes.'

Regarding preparations for the role:

'I dedicated time to studying Hemalatha garu's body language. She possessed a calm and composed demeanor, which was quite different from my natural tendencies. I often move my head while talking, but I had to keep it steady and unwavering for the role. I worked diligently on perfecting the dialogues, especially since my very first scene involved delivering lengthy lines. I made sure every aspect of my appearance, from the way I wore the saree to how I styled my hair, matched her character faithfully. I aimed to bring honesty to my portrayal, even ensuring my skin tone matched hers.'

About real-life activism and future roles:

'In real life, I have a streak of activism within me. I've delivered speeches in front of crowds. While I may not be a full-time activist, I do feel a sense of responsibility towards society. My experience in 'Tiger Nageswara Rao' and playing someone who made significant contributions in the 1960s and 1970s has made me realize the need to do more for society. It's not just about ourselves and our families.'

Regarding rumors about focusing solely on socially responsible roles:

'Let me clarify that the rumors suggesting I will only do characters with social responsibility are entirely untrue.'
