Over the past few days there has been a huge outrage on social media against the last released Dulquer Salmaan movie Varane Avashyamund, which was also produced by him. The movie which was a superhit, was released last week on OTT platforms.

A particular sequence in the movie has Suresh Gopi naming his dog as Prabhakaran, and this has angered Tamils as it refers to the name of LTTE leader Prabhakaran and after abusive hashtags against Dulquer, he also apologised and explained that Prabhakara was named after a famous comedy scene in Pattanapravesham.

Now, after opposition from politicians like Seeman, now Viduthalai Chiruthaigal party leader Thol Thirumavalavan has tweeted that this scene in Varane Avashyamund degrading Prabhakaran shows the shameful nature of the team, and condemning this, he has added that though Dulquer Salmaan has apologised, the scene must be immediately removed from Varane Avashyamund.
