While for others, a remake is only a rare avagation, for Bheemineni Srinivas Rao, remaking particular type of blockbusters in other languages is an article of faith. A film needs to have emotions and/or a stunning climax to inspire him. If there are both, he will be super-excited. If it is more, the merrier.

This Friday, Speedunnodu will tell us whether he still knows the audience's pulse. Although his last film, Sudigaadu, was a hit, this one becoming a hit will be an entirely different thing, as, unlike the Allari Naresh comedy-parody caper, Speedunnodu doesn't belong to a sure-shot genre. As the director himself has said, this one is a real test of whether he can make a film that keeps pace with the prevailing trend.

Bellamkonda Srinivas reprises the role played by Sashi Kumar in the original, Sundarapandian. The other important character, that of his friend, is essayed by Madhu Nandan. If the emotions between the friends works, and the climax turns out to be as exciting as the audiences are expecting, then this film will surely strike gold.
