A Sunni Muslim group called Raza Academy has issued a Fatwa against ace music composer A.R.Rahman and famed Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi for working on the film Mohammed: Messenger of God` the first part of a trilogy on the life of the Prophet Mohammed, which has released earlier this month in many countries across the world. .

The group claims that the film has made a mockery of Islam Religion as it goes against the words of the Prophet to not create or retain any visual or image of him. It has apparently written to the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis asking them to ban the screening of the film. It has also appealed every Muslim to boycott the film.

The double Oscar winning music composer and internationally acclaimed filmmaker Majid are yet to respond to the Fatwa call.
