Director and Actor Cheran had last directed the movie Thirumanam, where he had also played an important role, and few months after the movie's release, he had entered the third season of the popular Bigg Boss game show hosted by Kamal Haasan as a contestant.

Cheran had been in the house for around 80 days and was one of the most popular contestants, and had gained a lot of fans after his appearance in the show. While he had announced in the show that he will start his next direction venture next year starring Vijay Sethupathi, his next movie has announced its release.

Cheran will be back as an actor in the movie Rajavukku Check, which is directed by Sai Rajkumar, known for directing the Jayam Ravi, Shriya Saran starrer Mazhai, and it has been officially announced that this movie will be released on January 24. The movie also stars Srushti Dange and Irfan.
