Rehana Fathima is known for her controversial activism that includes posing topless with watermelons to protest a college professors derogatory statement, angering culture police by participating in the Kiss of Love movement and trying to enter the holy Sabarimala temple after the Supreme Court allowed women to enter.

Rehana Fathima has also reportedly acted in a banned movie 'Eka' that deals with the intersex gender and containing violence and sexual depictions. The former BSNL employee who was sacked after the controversies has yet again gotten into trouble for allowing her minor children to paint on her semi-nude body and shooting it on video.

Rehana Fathima's video Body Art and Politics has attracted legal trouble and the Kerala police entered her house to find her absconding leaving behind cellphones and laptops which were confiscated. The complaint was lodged by BJP OBC Morcha leader Arun Prakash and she is said to have been booked under the Kerala Police Act, Information Technology Act and Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act
