Actresses who are at the receiving end of gossips usually react either casually or emotionally. For a change, Regina Cassandra has chosen to react creatively. Of course, her answer to gossips is emotional, but the expression is creative.
In a short film which features her prominently, the gorgeous diva reveals her hurt feelings through an interaction with a character who plays her fan. In a chit-chat with her fan, Regina replies to her admirer that an actress is, at the end of the day, a woman. "When we go back to our home, we leave aside our stardom at the threshold. And then, we have to answer to our parents as girls," she emotionally says to her fan, who casually asks her about a gossip.
Besides quoting Mark Twain (A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes), Regina says with a hurt expression that it's not the creator of a rumour but the one having to swallow it who knows the pain. She further says that, no heroine does skin-show because she likes it, but because it's part of her profession. "We are like any other after the shoot is over," she says.
Needless to say, the short film is an answer to those who have widely written about her alleged affair with a Telugu hero. With her emotional-creative appeal, we may see less of such stuff in future.
