Regina, Nivetha to headline Sudheer Varma's remake of Korean action film

It was recently reported that a Korean movie titled 'Midnight Runners' would be remade in Telugu. Director Sudheer Varma of 'Swamy Ra Ra' and 'Ranarangam' fame is helming it.

The news is that the project was announced today. Regina Cassandra and Nivetha Thomas will be headlining it. The Korean original had two males undergoing police training undertaking an amateur investigation to crack down upon a dark gang. In the Telugu remake, the characters are female. The screenplay is expected to be exciting, considering that it involves a police procedural as well as action scenes. Chases are also expected to be integral to the screenplay.

Announcing the remake, Suresh Productions said that it has previously collaborated with Guru Films and Kross Pictures on the successful 'Oh! Baby'. On her part, Regina tweeted, Action-packed journey. Can’t waiiiit for you to see all the craziness we have in store for you.

With cinematographer Richard Prasad on board, the story of the film has got a crime angle. Produced by D Suresh Babu, Sunitha Tati, and Hyunwoo Thomas Kim, its music is by Mikey McCleary.
