Regina has acted in several Tamil films, including Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga, Maanagaram, Silukkuvarpatti Singam, and Kaanjuuring Kannappan. She has also appeared in Telugu and Hindi films. Recently, she played an important role in Ajith Kumar’s upcoming movie Vidaamuyarchi, which releases on February 6.
Speaking about the film, Regina said, “Director Magizh Thirumeni first approached me for this project. I heard the story, and after a few days, they contacted me again. Since I was not available in person, I listened to the narration over a Zoom call. I found the character unique and immediately accepted the role. Working with Ajith was a great experience, and I learned a lot.”
Regina also shared her thoughts on the evolving film industry. “I have been working in multiple languages. Earlier, South Indian actors were not easily accepted in Bollywood, as there was a clear distinction between the industries. But now, pan-Indian films have changed that scenario.”
She credited the success of films like Baahubali, Kantara, RRR, and K.G.F. for creating opportunities for South Indian actors in Bollywood. “These films helped actors like Yash, Jr. NTR, and Prabhas gain recognition in the Hindi industry. Bollywood now acknowledges the talent of South Indian actors, and they are being celebrated across India,” she added.
