During one of his latest public speeches, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan said that he does politics only to make people transcend their narrow identities.
"None of us had a choice to choose our caste or religion. But it's in our capacity to see everyone with equal eyes regardless of caste, creed, region, etc. Recently, I said in Kurnool that Reddy means he who protects, not he who robs. Next day, a group of Reddy community members came to me and appreciated me for the comments," Pawan said.
He added that he doesn't belong to any caste group. "My name is Pawan Kalyan. I don't have a caste. I am not Pawan Kalyan Naidu or Pawan Kalyan Rayalu. If two of my children practice Hinduism, the other two practice Christianity. And my friends are into Islam. I am here to unite castes, not divide people on caste lines," he said.
