Record liquor sales in Telangana!

Soon after a 10-day lockdown was announced on Tuesday, liquor sales in the State went north. Wine shops attracted long queues of men who didn't know that liquor shops can be opened from 6 am to 10 am every day during the lockdown. Drinkers just didn't want to take a chance and were willing to take a chance with coronavirus instead as they crowded wine shops.

It's estimated that Telangana registered liquor sales to the tune of Rs 125 Cr since Tuesday afternoon before the day ended.
This is nearly double the daily average seen in May. The first 10 days of this month saw sales to the tune of Rs 67 Cr per day.
On Tuesday, the highest figure came from the Ranga Reddy district, which logged Rs 24 Cr.
In Hyderabad's Tonique, sales to the tune of Rs 3.5 Cr were registered in just 6 hours.
