Yesterday fans had a sigh of relief since ‘Thala’ Ajtih’s 55th film to be directed by Gautham Menon was officially announced in a press statement sent on behalf of A.M.Ratnam who is going to produce the film under his Sri Satya Sai Movies banner.

The film is all set to kick start on April 9. Though the cast and cre details of the film are yet to be confirmed, sources close to the unit reveal that Anushka will be the lead lady of the film and she will join the shoot from April 11. A.R.Rahman is most likely to be roped in as the music composer of the film.

Though the news about the film started surfacing from January the film is going to start only in April. The reason for the three month gap has been attributed to Gautham’s decision to have the complete script in hand before making a proper announcement.

Ajith was kicked about the story and did not hesitate to wait for the script to be in place. Ajith has been reportedly telling people close to him that his 55th film will be Gautham film and the character he plays will be different from all the characters he has played so far. It is to be noted that Ajith has worked hard in the gym and trimmed his body to suit his character in the film.

Other reports suggest that Ajith will be playing a detective officer in the film however it is better to wait for official confirmation before jumping into conclusions.
