Annamalai, a 2011-batch IPS officer, has resigned from his job. The young officer's resignation has come as a big surprise. Known for his sincerity, the former DCP is termed as the Singham of Karnataka police.
What are his plans? He is set to join politics. This news was today confirmed by D Roopa, an IPS officer. "Spoke to Annamalai. He has tendered resignation today. He is plunging into politics. It requires guts, boldness to leave cushy, secure, hard-earned IPS job. It's heartening to see such achievers and youngsters diving into politics. Wishing him all the best," she wrote.
As per early reports, he will most likely join the BJP. He is said to have been spiritually inspired to take to politics after a visit to Kailash Manasarovar.
It may be noted that, this year, a bright IAS officer named Aparajita Sarangi quit the IAS to join the BJP. She recently won from Bhubaneshwar as MP.
