The ongoing trend of players leaving to their homes midway of the IPL season was somewhat started by Delhi Capitals ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. He stated that, during these tough times, he must be with his family members in this fight against COVID.
No one knew whom he was specifically talking about, but his wife Prithi Narayanan recently revealed through an Instagram story that it was their kids that were tested positive for this infectious virus first, and through them, it is said that one of Ashwin's parents also contracted the virus and as many as 10 people in the family have succumbed to this infectious virus. Prithi herself is said to be in isolation and in light of this, he would've taken the decision because in these alarming hours family comes first.
India is seriously in major trouble, be it with the rising no. of cases or with the shortage of oxygen. This second wave has hit everybody and none of us were ready for this. Following Ashwin, few other players like, Andrew Tye, Adam Zampa and even some umpires like Nitin Menon also pulled out of the tournament and returned back to their homes leaving the ongoing IPL season.
