The dream merchant of Kannada cinema V.Ravichandran is disturbed man today because he was threatened by one of the producers of 'Ugadi' Kannada film – Praveenkumar on the sets at Ooty recently. This recalls the episode what happened to Dr.Rajkumar at Ooty in 1984 on the sets of 'Yaarivanu' Kannada film. The scale of episode might be less but the most respected V.Ravichandran of Kannada cinema is perturbed on the incident he faced from a novice producer.

Crystal clear in his approach and attitudes Ravichandran was told by producer Praveenkumar that he (Ravichandran) would not go away from Ooty till he finishes his portion. "I would see that your car does not go away from Ooty" remarked producer Praveenkumar angrily without thinking about the consequences of saying like this to a star like Ravichandran. After such inexcusable utterances the other two producers Ganesh and Umesh Banakar pushed Praveenkumar to the car and apologized with Ravichandran. Ravichandran was taken back at this incident and he kept quiet for a long time. On that day – 27 th October Ravichandran was supposed to leave Coimbatore at 12.55 pm to reach Chennai to attend two important family functions. He had made it very clear to the producers before leaving to Ooty schedule of 'Ugadi' shooting on his schedule. It was agreed upon that Ravichandran would be set free to at 10 am 27th to reach Coimbatore to catch Chennai flight.

When a group of journalists met Ravichandran at his residence in Rajajinagar after knowing such ugly remarks on the torchbearer of Kannada cinema obviously Ravichandran was seen upset. I have swallowed many back biting in life yet struggling for the quality film in Kannada he said. Praveenkumar is a stupid fellow. With a series of excuses I have worked for this film without getting remuneration and he threatens me like this makes me to formulate a strong platform to put an end to such remarks. This platform should protect all sector members is my idea. To clear off this type of producers we should first stop remake films. Half of the producers would vacate this place of business. All Tom Dick and Harry come here today and they do not have the taste of making proper film says Ravichandran.

On the issue of dubbing films to Kannada Ravichandran made it clear that those who say like this would not get call sheet from him.
