Ravi Teja, Malineni come together for a crime drama

Seems genre-hopping is the order of the day for Ravi Teja who is known to usually play it safe with commercial entertainers. With his current Disco Raja, directed by Vi Anand, being a scientific-thriller set some three decades ago, the Mass Maharaja has chosen a crime drama next up. It is learnt that his film with Gopichand Malineni, with whom he earlier teamed up for two successful films Don Sreenu and Balupu, will see the actor in the role of a police officer who is deputed to Ongole to bring the crime rate down there.
Apparently a lot of research went into the film and Malineni this time around felt the need to change his approach after being criticized for following a regular trope to that of staple Tollywood masala-action films with his last Winner, which flopped at the ticket counters. The yet-to-be-titled venture will roll as soon as Ravi completes Disco Raja and a major part of the film will be shot in Ongole.
