Ravi Teja kisses goodbye to remake? Good, if true

It was reported a few months ago that Mythri Movie Makers would be making a movie with Ravi Teja. To be directed by Santosh Srinivas of 'Kandireega' and 'Hyper' fame, the film was touted to be an official remake of Vijay's 'Theri' (Tamil). The makers even advertised in May that they were looking for a girl child artist to reprise the role essayed by Meena's daughter in the original. Catherine Tresa was roped in to play the heroine's role.
But the latest industry buzz is that the project has been done away with altogether. For whatever reason, Ravi Teja feels that a 'Theri' remake wouldn't be apt for him. It's believed that this change of mind happened after the disastrous performance of 'Nela Ticket' this summer. He might have okayed a new story instead.
To be sure, it's a good decision. 'Theri' is a grossly over-rated movie full of cliched elements. If it worked in Tamil, it's because of Vijay's superstardom. As for Ravi Teja, his magic is a thing of the past now, never mind the success of 'Raja The Great', which mainly worked due to comedy.
