Tollywood is making strides with respect to roping in seasoned cinematographers. Gnanashekar VS recently proved his mettle with 'Kanche'. Natarajan Subramaniam has come in for praise for his 'A Aa' visuals. Allu Arjun ensured Rishi Punjabi was on board for 'Sarrainodu'. Thirru, who cranked the camera for such films as 'Hey Ram' debuted in Telugu with 'Janatha Garage' recently.
Close on the heels of V Manikandan of 'Om Shanti Om' and 'Aparichitudu' fame signing up for Trivikram-Pawan Kalyan's next, Ravi K Chandran has been roped in as the cinematographer of Koratala Siva's next.
Now, Ravi comes with an awesome track record, having won the Filmfare Award for Best Cinematographer for 'Black' and 'Virasat' in Bollywood. This Sanjay Leela Bhansali favourite also cranked the camera for the aesthetically shot 'Saawariya'.
He is happy to be teaming up with Koratala. "I loved all the 3 films of @sivakoratala happy for my debut in Telugu film under his direction with super star Mahesh Babu," he tweeted. It's said that Ravi accepts to do a movie only if he likes the story. This must be music to Mahesh's die-hard fans, who are expecting a bigger hit than 'Srimanthudu' this time. The film will go on the floors in February next.
