The grand audio launch of the Shantanu and Kayal Anandi starrer 'Ravana Kottam' was held in Dubai recently. It was attended by top politicians such Minister Duraimurugan, MPs Kalanithi Viraswamy and Kanimozhi and top Kollywood celebrities Lyca Subhashkaran, VGP Santhosh, Xavier Britto, K. Bhagyaraj, Venkat Prabhu, Nasser, Radhika, Khushboo, Meena, Yuvanshankar Raja, Premji, Prasanna and others.

'Ravana Kottam' is produced by Dubai based businessman Kannan Ravi who spent crores just for the audio launch alone in a never before seen manner in Tamil cinema history. Kannan Ravi is the owner of the KRG Group of Companies headquartered in Dubai. He hails from Thitakudi in Tamilnadu and went to the gulf as a normal laborer and today has risen to the position of one of the topmost businessmen there.

'Ravana Kottam' is Kannan Ravi's first foray into Tamil cinema and he has already made heads turn with the first production. He shared an interesting information that he cast Shantanu Bhagyaraj as the hero of his film as a gesture of gratefulness. He elucidated that many years back he had marital problems and had to go to the police station. A friend of his contacted director K. Bhagyaraj and asked for help who obliged without even knowing who Kannan Ravi was. Apparently the legendary writer-director-actor helped solve the issue which in turn solved his marital issues as well. It was after this that the two families became close and have maintained a good relationship over the years.

'Ravana Kottam' is directed by Vikram Sukumaran with music by Justin Prabhakaran. The film stars Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Kayal Anandhi, Prabhu, Ilavarasu, Sujatha Sivakumar, Aruldoss and Deepa Shankar. The film is expected to release worldwide in theaters on May 12th this year.
