Rashmika Mandanna Takes on Cybercrime as I4Cs National Brand Ambassador

Renowned Actor Rashmika Mandanna popular as National Crush, known for her roles in films like "Pushpa: The Rise," "Dear Comrade," and "Animal," has been appointed as the National Brand Ambassador for the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), an initiative of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

This appointment comes after Mandanna herself became a victim of cybercrime earlier this year when a deepfake video of her was circulated online. Her personal experience highlights the urgency of addressing cybercrime and underscores her commitment to promoting online safety.

"Let's unite to build a safer cyberspace for ourselves and future generations," Mandanna wrote on Instagram, announcing her new role. "I want to bring awareness and protect as many of you as possible from cybercrimes as I take on the role of brand ambassador for I4C. Let me and the Government of India help you."

Leveraging her massive social media following (44.2 million on Instagram and 4.9 million on X), Mandanna is encouraging people to report cybercrimes by calling 1930 or visiting cybercrime.gov.in.

The I4C, established by the Ministry of Home Affairs, aims to provide a unified framework for law enforcement agencies in tackling cybercrime effectively. Mandanna's involvement promises to amplify the I4C's reach and bolster efforts to combat cyber threats.

"Excited to onboard the pan-India star @iamRashmika as I4C's National Brand Ambassador," the Cyber Dost handle (maintained by the MHA) announced on X. "We are joining forces to fortify India's digital landscape, we'll tackle cybercrimes head-on."

Mandanna's appointment underscores the growing concern around cybercrime and the importance of proactive measures to safeguard online spaces. With her personal experience and commitment to driving positive change, Mandanna is poised to become a powerful advocate for cyber safety in India.

Her next film, "Pushpa: The Rule," is set to release on December 6th.The film stars Icon Star Allu Arjun in the lead role and is directed by Sukumar.
