One of the most popular actresses of the country at the moment, Rashmika Mandanna has worked in four film industries at a very young age and currently she is awaiting the release of her film 'Mission Majnu' in which she will be seen sharing screen with Sidharth Malhotra. The film revolves around an Indian spy (played by Sidharth) who infiltrates Pakistan in order to gather intelligence about their nuclear program and Rashmika portrays his visually impaired wife, Amrin.
Talking about how she prepped for such a challenging role, Rashmika said, "I did a two-week workshop to understand the mannerisms of a visually impaired woman. Your line of vision must be straight; you cannot let the camera capture the fact that you know where you are going."
She added, "When shooting a scene, I had to count my steps, and ensure that my focus was not on the direction in which I am walking. Instead, I concentrated on portraying the part honestly. For instance, in a scene where Amrin is cooking for Tariq, I had to change my line of sight. I couldn*t focus on making rotis or lighting the stove. Such technical nuances were the trickiest part of filming."
Set in the 1970s, 'Mission Majnu' is supposedly inspired by true events which played a huge role in the future relations of India and Pakistan.
