One of the most popular and sought after actresses of current times, Rashmika Mandanna recently started a Twitter war after she made some comments about music in Telugu and Hindi cinema. During a song launch event of her upcoming Bollywood film 'Mission Majnu', the actress stated that Hindi cinema has really good romantic songs while the Telugu cinema excels in making masla item numbers.
She had stated, "Bollywood romantic songs were a thing. For me, while growing up, romantic songs meant Bollywood numbers. In South, we have mass masala, item numbers and dance numbers. This is my first Bollywood romantic song. I am so excited because it's so good." Soon after this comment, several netizens took to Twitter to troll Rashmika for generalising the type of cinema music in these industries. However, there were a large number of people who were supporting her statement as well.
A user tweeted, "This is why Kannada people hate her. She speaks without even thinking properly." Another user wrote, “She might be wrong in stereotyping the industries but as fans we all are proud of our masala and item numbers, which pump up the adrenaline in the movie. I understand not liking the stereotype as Telugu melodies are unmatched, but this bashing is shameful."
One tweet read, “Bollywood is famous for romantic songs. South is famous for mass songs and item numbers. That's a fact. She didn't blame or downgrade any industry there."
Starring Sidharth Malhotra in the lead, 'Mission Majnu' is set to release on 19th of January.
