Rashmika Mandanna clarifies her controversial statement on Bollywood and South Indian songs

In today's time, it is quite easy for celebs to become target of trolls for no significant reason. In one such recent instance, actress Rashmika Mandanna faced quite a backlash for her statement about Bollywood and South Indian songs. She had stated, For me, while growing up, romantic songs meant Bollywood numbers. In South, we have mass masala, item numbers and dance numbers.” Apparently, this didn't go too well with some people who took to social media to express their displeasure.

However, in a recent media interaction, Rashmika has issued clarification regarding the same and has talked about how the whole thing blew out of proportion. She told Galatta Plus, One fault I have noticed within myself is when someone asks a 2 marks question, I give a 5 marks answer, which is something I have to work upon. Words are being twisted and turned against me. There are somethings which you say in some context and then they are turned against you and you are like, ‘but that’s not what I meant’.

She added, Recently I was talking on the stage about Bollywood romantic songs and I said in South we have mass numbers, and people didn’t realise that I was cut in between my answer. The boys on stage were like, ‘we know, we know’. But my whole answer was going to be, ‘In south, we have mass numbers, item numbers, romantic songs, I have been blessed with so many romantic songs, I have “Kadalalle”, “Belageddu”, I have so many romantic songs, I have no reason to say South only has mass songs. This was going to be my answer but nobody wants to listen to the whole thing.”

As of now, Rashmika is awaiting the release of her Bollywood film 'Mission Majnu' which also stars Sidharth Malhotra. Post that she will start working on the 'Pushpa' sequel with Allu Arjun.
