Many believe she said it to appeal to the Telugu audience, while others criticized her for not acknowledging her roots in Karnataka.
Fans took to social media to express their disappointment, some even justifying the negativity she receives from Kannadigas. On the other hand, supporters argued that since she currently resides in Hyderabad, her statement was not wrong. Rashmika started her career in Kannada cinema, appearing in five films before transitioning to Telugu and Hindi movies from 2021.
Despite the controversy, Rashmika continues to thrive in Bollywood. She played the role of Maharani Yesubai in Chhaava, further expanding her versatility as an actress.
