Rashmika Mandanna, our beloved National Crush, found herself in a distressing and disturbing situation when a deepfake video of her started circulating widely on social media. This unfortunate incident triggered a major controversy, and it prompted the renowned actor Amitabh Bachchan to take the lead in demanding decisive action against those responsible for this reprehensible act.
The Telugu Film Journalists Association (TFJA) took a proactive stance and expressed their deep concern about the incident. TFJA's President, Mr. Lakshmi Narayana, and General Secretary, Mr. Y J Rambabu, wasted no time in meeting with Telangana DGP Anjani Kumar to insist on stringent measures against those who target not only celebrities but also innocent women for their sadistic pleasure. DGP Anjani Kumar, upon receiving their complaint, committed to taking resolute action. He underscored the importance of reporting such incidents promptly to enable swift damage control.
Following TFJA strong and timely intervention and the association's undeterred support to her, Rashmika Mandanna, reacted and thanked the association members for their support. She said such kind of timely action and support will give confidence to the affected people that they are safe and people are concerned about women security and safety along with cyber security.
Notably, numerous prominent personalities from across the nation rallied behind Rashmika Mandanna, echoing Amitabh Bachchan's impassioned call for justice. Union IT Minister Rajiv Chandrasekhar also stepped in, promising to take strong action against those involved in creating deepfake videos. Prime Minister Modi's NDA government reiterated its unwavering commitment to women's safety and cybersecurity.
Adding to the chorus of support, Telangana MLC Kavitha, the daughter of CM KCR, extended her unwavering backing to Rashmika Mandanna. Notable figures from the Tollywood industry, including Naga Chaitanya, Sai Dharam Tej, Mrunal Thakur, and Chinmayi Sripada, stood firmly with Rashmika in this challenging time. The deepfake video, which depicted Rashmika emerging from a bathroom, ignited righteous indignation among these celebrities.
It is crucial to emphasize that the original video featured Zara Patil, a British influencer, and her face was maliciously manipulated in the deepfake video. Zara Patil strongly refuted any involvement in the incident.
