Amitabh Bachchan, after viewing the video, urged for legal action to be taken against those responsible. Online users pointed out that the original video featured Zara Patel, a British Indian with a substantial social media following. Rashmika's 'Goodbye' co-star also weighed in on the issue, commenting, "Yes, this is a strong case for legal action (sic)."

In the wake of the significant controversy, Rashmika Mandanna shared her thoughts and fears regarding the deepfake video. She expressed her feelings on a social media platform, stating, "I feel deeply hurt having to share and discuss this deepfake video of me circulating online. Such incidents are genuinely alarming, not just for me, but for every individual today who is vulnerable to potential harm due to the misuse of technology." The viral video features a British-Indian woman dressed in black inside an elevator, with her face manipulated using artificial intelligence (AI) to resemble Rashmika.

Rashmika continued, "Today, as a woman and as an actor, I am grateful for my family, friends, and well-wishers who serve as my protectors and support system. However, if this had happened to me when I was in school or college, I genuinely cannot fathom how I would have coped. We must address this issue as a community and with a sense of urgency before more individuals fall victim to such identity theft." In her tweet, Rashmika tagged the official accounts of Cyberabad Police and Maharashtra Cyber, the nodal agency for cyber security and cybercrime investigation in Maharashtra. Her stance received significant support from many netizens.
