Rasathantram
Rasathantram is the one film, Malayali film goers were literally waiting for long. It is the union of Sathyan Anthikad and Mohanlal after a gap of 14 years. But more to say about the expectations is the meaty, down to earth role that Mohanlal plays in the film, like the heroes of very other Sathyan movies.
The entire script of the film is written by the director himself who delivered 11 hits with lal in the early 90's. Sathyan also present for the first time another national award winner Meera Jasmine opposite lal as a Vishu present for the keralites.
Mohanlal is playing the role of a carpenter, Premachandran Asari, who arrives at the mansion of Roy Mathew for some job works. There he finds Kanmani, a tamil servant girl in distress. Apart from the heavy workload that she has to complete in the tender age, she also falls prey of the tantrums of a half mad sister of Roy Mathew. The interest that Premachandran shows towards Kanmani finally forces him to rescue her from the mansion and to present her as a servant girl in another household of a policeman. This camoflague and the heavy hardships is what makes the subtle humor and a bunch of emotional sequences as in every other Sathyan films.
The film produced by Aashirvaad also bring the music Maestro Illayaraja with Mohanlal after a long time. The film has four songs. Jagathy, Innocent, Mamukoya, Siddique, K.P.A.C. Lalitha and Bindu Panickar share the other star credits. The film cinematographed by Azhagappan will get released by as April 7.
The fans of Mohanlal are very much eager to receive the hero back to performing characters that they could identify. What follows in the box office will definitely be cheer and applause.
