The TasteAtlas website recently rolled up the best cheese desserts across the world, and food lovers in an Instagram carousel went up in excitement. From the featured goodies, there's no stealing the thunder—rasmalai, a delicate Indian sweet, has indeed stolen the show.

A world-dreamy, often-had, buttery-textured dessert is halwa. The Indian sweet made out of paneer and milk is nothing short of a treat, for that matter, either on festive occasions or without any reason at all. Of course, recognition by Taste Atlas is one thing that has brought cheers to many a sweet tooth.

TasteAtlas spoke and urged its followers to vote for what should be there at number one. Rasmalai secured the second position, following sernik, a delicacy from Poland. Other near-contestants were Sfakianopita, a dessert from Greece, securing position three, with NYC cheesecake and Japanese cheesecake at positions four and five, respectively.

Ultimately, the selection had Basque cheesecake, Rákóczi túrós from Hungary, melopita from Greece, Käsekuchen from Germany, and Mont The post garnered almost 13,000 likes and comments from excited followers. Instagram users shared their joyful responses. The overwhelming reaction only gives the Rasmalai status as the favorite few around the world.
