The internet has opened up thousands of games that keep one section entertained while others become addicted and waste precious time, energy and health. Parents and friends of addictive gamers are at a loss on how to help their loved ones from the threat. A company called Desk Plant has developed a game that is shockingly called 'Rape Day' and lets players control a serial killer who is allowed to lure women into his room, verbally abuse them and then rape and murder them in various possible ways.
There has been a huge outrage among netizens who came to know that Rape Day is launching in April this year and the gaming website now has a page as to how the game works. A petition was filed on Change.org which was signed by 8000 people forcing Valve the company that runs Steam Direct to ban it.
The even most shocking thing about Rape Game issue is that its unnamed creator has stated "Despite what people are saying in the discussion, the game is marked as adult," he wrote. It's for a niche audience; If it's not your type of game you definitely don't need to play it but as other's have said I tried to make a game that I would enjoy playing, and there are other people like me." He has added that he would develop his own platform to stream the game saying "If we ever come to the scientific conclusion that committing crimes in video games significantly increases the chances of committing crimes in real life, then at that point we as a society will have to decide if we want to ban committing some or all crimes in fiction,"
