Earlier this year, it was announced that Sony Pictures and Mukesh Khanna are planning give a cinematic adaptation to India's iconic superhero Shaktimaan. Started as a TV show in 1997, Shaktimaan is a pop culture icon for people who were born in late 80s and 90s. It was also revealed that the film adaptation of Shaktimaan will have a budget of around 300 crore rupees and it will be first installment of a trilogy.

Latest reports suggest that actor Ranveer Singh has been approached by the makers to play the superhero in this ambitious project. Although there has been no official confirmation about the same but it seems that Ranveer has shown interest in the offer.

A source close to the development recently told India Today, "Ranveer has shown a keen interest in playing Shaktimaan, the Indian superhero. The makers too feel that Ranveer can bring a natural charisma to the superhero character, who was first introduced in 1997. Talks are on with the actor and the team."
