Actor Ranveer Singh recently appeared on filmmaker Karan Johar's talk show 'Koffee With Karan'. Ranveer was accompanied by actress Alia Bhatt and during the show, he talked about several topics including the time when he was replaced by Ranbir Kapoor in a film. When asked about whether he has ever been rejected for a film, the actor recalled getting rejected for a role in the Hollywood film 'The Reluctant Fundamentalist'.
Karan then reminded Ranveer about 'Bombay Velvet' to which the actor replied, "I was not rejected for Bombay Velvet, I was unceremoniously dropped because at the time, I couldn’t justify the budget. My star value wasn’t high, but, things have changed.” Coincidentally, Karan himself played a significant role in 'Bombay Velvet' while Ranveer was replaced by Alia's husband Ranbir Kapoor.
Apart from the Karan Johar is currently working on his upcoming directorial venture 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani' which stars Ranveer and Alia in the lead.
