Director Shankar is synonymous with grand spectacle in Indian cinema and has maintained his position at the top for more than two decades now. After the grand success of Superstar Rajinikanth's '2.0' in 2018, Shankar started directing Kamal Haasan in 'Indian 2' the sequel to the duo's 1996 pan Indian blockbuster film 'Indian'.

'Indian 2' is sixty percent complete but has been delayed due to a leg surgery that Kamal had to undergo and his political commitments due to the upcomingTamil Nadu General Assembly elections. The shooting in all probability will resume only after June or July.

In the meantime it has been officially announced that Shankar will helm a new project produced by Dil Raju in which Ram Charan Teja is playing the lead and it is expected to go on floors later this year.

Now Bollywood media has reported that young superstar Ranveer Singh recently flew down to Chennai to listen to a script narration from Shankar and has been floored by it. The reports are rife that its for a pan Indian film that the ace director has been planning.
