Ranveer Singh is one of the few Bollywood actors who have the right balance of skills and popularity and that's what makes him one of the best filmstars of this generation. Last night, he bagged the Superstar of the decade award at the Filmfare Achievers Night Award show in Dubai and although he is known for his goofy and happy go lucky persona, Ranveer was quite emotional while accepting the award.
Ranveer's parents Jagjit Singh Bhavnani and Anju Bhavnani were cheering for their son among the audience and the actor took their blessings before heading to the stage. Giving shout out to his parents for supporting him throughout his journey, Ranveer said, "Mum you were crying 12 years ago and you're crying again, please tell me these are happy tears. Looking at you even I'll cry so please stop, you have a tissue in your purse right?"
The actor almost teared up while talking about his father's role in launching him. He stated, "The portfolio quotation came for Rs 50,000. They promised it will be a good one, with a big photographer. I told my dad, 'Papa, that Rs 50,000 portfolio is very expensive.' He told me, 'Son, do not worry, your father is sitting here."
Ranveer's wife Deepika Padukone had to miss the event as she was busy filming for her upcoming film 'Fighter' with Hrithik Roshan.
