Several films based on Hindu mythological epics are in production these days in Bollywood. One of them is 'Suryaputra Mahavir Karna'. The film based on the one of the tragic characters of Mahabharat has been attracting quite a buzz ever since its announcement. According to latest reports, makers have approached Ranveer Singh for the titular role. Ranveer has done similar films in the past and with his energy and acting chops, he seems like the perfect for the character.

The film is being bankrolled by Jackie and Vashu Bhagnani under the banner Pooja Entertainment.

Here's what a source revealed about the development, "What Pooja Entertainment has announced is a revamped version of the project. They are making it with a different set of cast and production teams, on a much bigger scale than earlier planned. Envisioned on an unparalleled scale with benchmark visual effects, the film requires someone who could bring Karna alive on screen and the makers believe Ranveer fits the bill to the T. They have approached the actor and he has also shown his interest, however, nothing concrete has materialised so far.”
