As it happens with all newcomers who don't come with any backing from within the industry and haven't been born in a family which belongs to Bollywood, Ranveer Singh, who would be making his debut as a leading man in 'Band Bajaa Baaraat', too didn't see things coming to him quite easily.

"Really, I had no clue that how would I get a break," remembers Ranveer, "It all started seemingly like a really far fetched idea. I was just relying on my will power to back up this idea and take my chances."

It was this agonising walk from one office to another that led him to Yash Raj Films where he got an opportunity to assist Shaad Ali (director of 'Saathiya', 'Bunty Aur Babli', 'Jhoom Barabar Jhoom').

"I started assisting Shaad, began to learn the ropes, got more hands-on experience on the sets and understood how it was to be involved in the day to day process of film making," says Ranveer who hails from Mumbai and has studied in the USA, "It was a learning process for me before I could face the camera myself."

Well, with a happy ending eventually coming his way, an altogether new beginning is all set for the newcomer who would be seen with Anushka Sharma in 'Band Baaja Baraat' that releases all over on 10th December.
