With two women as the protagonists, it is only expected that viewers would think 'Rani Padmini' to be a feminist movie. However, one of the movie's lead actors, Rima Kallingal said that the movie is not a feminist one, but that it is a fun movie.

'Rani Padmini' is all about the journey that two women, strangers to each other takes. Shyam Pushkaran is the script writer. Rima says that watching the movie will unravels the thoughts and feelings of a woman.
