Ahead of the release of 'Rangula Raatnam' on January 14, Akkineni Nagarjuna, the film's producer, spoke of the film.

Nagarjuna said, "Our film is the Sankranthi 'pongali' from Annapurna Studios. I have watched the film. I can say that this is a very real, sweet film. The scenes between the son and his mother (the Raj Tarun-Sitara duo) and the ones between the lead pair (the RT-Chitra Shukla duo) are so realistic that they are like characters in front of our eyes. This is a family entertainer."

The actor-producer further said, "We had completed the movie a month back. We luckily found a date this Sankranthi and immediately sealed the release date. I had listened to the story a year ago. When I asked my Executive Producer Supriya to listen to it, she gave the nod. Recently when I watched the movie, I did so as the average audience. And I loved it thoroughly. I involved in the making only to the extent that I suggested some cuts. When Annapurna Studios delivers a hit, some credit will always be mine. So, I am very happy."

"This one is Sree Ranjani's debut movie. I don't remember how she narrated it to me a year ago. But the way she has executed the story, she has done it like an experienced technician. We did 'Uyyala Jampala' with Raj Tarun. He is a natural actor. In a scene involving his mother's character, he is so very good. I like his slang. His timing is quite natural. Sitara garu's acting, too, is a highlight," Nag said.
