Director Rajkumar Periasamy had made his debut in 2017, with the thriller movie Rangoon. Starring Gautham Karthik, Sana Makbul, Siddique and Daniel, the movie was produced by Director AR Murugadoss and Fox star studios and was received well critically.

The director had got married last year, and was recently blessed with a baby boy. Rajkumar Periasamy took it to Twitter to share the happy news that his child was born on June 22, as he posted a photo of the baby's hands, and captioned it "Fatherhood :) Bliss :) My son Since 22nd June, 2019".

Prior to entering movies, Rajkumar Periasamy had been working in various shows in Star Vijay. While there has been no announcement on the next direction venture of Rajkumar, it has been said that the director has narrated a script to Dream Warrior Pictures and is waiting to start the movie.
